The beginning

Eduard van Brunschot (better known as Eddy) is a Dutch textile engineer, horseman, and the founder of the Perol Chico Ranch in Peru.

Eddy began his career designing and producing fashion apparel for major European retail chains and private labels, outsourcing production to trusted manufacturers in Europe.

However, as the fast fashion industry boomed, with the mass production of cheap clothes made in China, Eddy boldly decided to follow his heart and pursue a childhood dream that had always lingered within him. In 1996, he made the life-changing move to Peru, where he turned his dream into reality by founding the Perol Chico Ranch and channelled his passion for horses and the rugged beauty of the Andes into creating extraordinary horseback riding expeditions.

The Company

Since its inception, the company has been committed to sustainably and conscientiously managing its horseback riding business, guided by humanist principles and values. Tourism in Peru plays a vital role in the country's economy and in expanding human flourishing and dignity within local communities. A significant portion of the company’s revenues is spent, directly or indirectly, in the local economy. From this perspective, booking a riding holiday with Perol Chico contributes to human development and welfare in Peru, impacting both the local community and the broader region.

Upcoming changes to our Sacred Valley ranch

With a heavy heart, we announce the upcoming changes to our Sacred Valley ranch. Starting in 2025, we will begin a complete property transformation as we prepare for the future. This marks the end of a significant cycle as we make way for new regional developments.

With the expected opening of the Chinchero International Airport by the end of 2026 (or, more likely, sometime in 2027), the Sacred Valley will experience considerable change that will affect the tourism landscape. As a result, we will be remodelling our ranch to focus on exclusive accommodations. Once the airport is fully operational, our horseback riding activities will be relocated.

During construction, our rides in the Sacred Valley will temporarily start from a different location near the ranch. Please note that this change only affects the starting and ending points of the rides and will not impact the horse experience we offer.
