THE POETRY OF RIDING
Classical Peruvian equitation is a riding style rooted in tradition, emphasizing balance, precision, and harmony between horse and rider. It is based on centuries of experience with the Peruvian Paso horse, a breed known for its smooth gait and elegant movement. This riding style focuses on a deep understanding of the horse's natural biomechanics and aims to enhance communication through subtle body movements, correct posture, and refined aids.

Riding the Peruvian Paso horse
In our booklet, Riding the Peruvian Paso Horse, we aim to explain how we ride our horses and, more importantly, why we ride them the way we do. We will explore the fundamental principles of classical Peruvian equitation, focusing on both the balanced and non-balanced seat and the proper use of body and riding aids. Additionally, we will discuss the significance and purpose of ‘collection’ in our riding style, highlighting its essential role in achieving harmony between horse and rider.
We highly recommend that all riders who participate in our rides read Riding the Peruvian Paso Horse.
